The Indian team dethroned Australia from the No.1 ICC Test Rankings. India is not only ranked number one in Tests but also T20 Internationals. The ICC (International Cricket Council) releases rankings for teams, batsmen, bowlers, and all-rounders in cricket based on their performances in international matches.

You all think how, India reached the number one Test ranking without playing for two months. In Test cricket, the points earned by a team depend on whether they win, draw or lose and also on the rating of the opposing team. The points earned are added to a team’s total points and divided by the number of matches played in the ranking period to give an average rating.

ICC May Rankings and considering all series played in 2020, half percentage for series played before May 2022 and 100 percentage for all series played after May 2022. In the cricket season after 2021, India lost against New Zealand in the WTC final and against South Africa in the Freedom Trophy. Australia emerged victorious in two domestic test series against Pakistan (2-0) and New Zealand (3-0) between 2019 and 2020. India went one in No. 1 ICC Test ranking.
