ICC has released its rankings in which very good news has come out for India. Mohammed Siraj
has taken 6 wickets against India and Sri Lanka. Siraj is on the top list with 694 points. Mohammed Siraj’s career took a big turn at the end of 2020 when he was selected to play for India’s tour of Australia. Mohammed Siraj was ranked 72nd a year ago and has assumed the role of India’s highest wicket-taker following Jasprit Bumrah’s injury.
The names of Indian batsmen are very top class in world cricket but now the names of Indian bowlers have also started appearing in the ICC rankings. There is a lot of discussion about the quantity and quality of spin bowlers in India but now Indian fast bowlers are also in the top ranking. Fast bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Shami, Mohammed Siraj are present in the current Indian team.
The Indian team is at number one ranking in ICC rankings in Test, T20 and number two in ODI. If the Indian team wins against Australia, then India can achieve number one ranking in ODI also. Surya Kumar Yadav is ranked number one in the Indian T20 batting list with 889 points. Shubman Gill is at number two in ODI batting. If Gill crosses the 200 run mark for me in 3 matches, then Gill can come at number one.
R Ashwin is the number one bowler in Test and all-rounder Hardik Pandya is at number two in T20. In the all-rounder rankings, Jadeja is at number one and R Ashwin is at number two, Axar Patel is often in fifth ranking. The Indian bowling line-up can always be questioned and Siraj topping the ICC rankings will boost India’s morale a lot, which is good news for India for the ICC World Cup 2023.
