The story of the Murder in Mahim is based on the book written by Jerry Pinto. In the series, a gay sex worker is murdered in the washroom at Mahim Railway Station. Within the series, Vijay Raj portrays Shivajirao Jende, as a police officer, whereas Ashutosh Rana plays the role of Peter, a journalist.  The Murder in Mahim focuses on the journey of two estranged friends, Peter and Jende, who are eventually reunited.
