According to the hindu, Yash said, “Malhotra is also the Global CEO of multiple Academy Award-winning visual effects company DNEG. “After years spent living between the US, the UK, and India, building a business that has achieved unparalleled commercial success and more Oscar wins in the last ten years than any other company, my personal journey has led me to the point that I feel ready to do justice to the incredible story of Ramayana,”

According to the report, Yash would play the demon king Ravana. In addition to Yash, the film will star Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, and Arun Govil. The music in the film was composed by National Award winner A.R. Rahman has given. Nitesh Tiwari directs the film, which is produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash under the banners of Monster Mind Creations and Prime Focus.
